Details
Yenmankankan Homestay shares an idyllic Piaynemo location with neighbouring Gloria Homestay.
Four private bungalows are available. One is over-water, and three sit in the shade of beachside trees.
The bungalows sleep two on mattresses on the floor. The usual bedding and mosquito net are supplied.
Meals will be served on bungalow verandahs until Yenmankankan finishes construction of their beachside dining room. As at all homestays, free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are provided for guests..
Guests share a small bathroom building that provides a western-style toilet and dip mandi (bucket) bathing.
A weak and variable 4G signal is received at Yenmankankan Homestay. It may not always support a data connection. Electricity is supplied by generator and is available from sunset to around midnight.
Only a little English is spoken at Yenmankankan Homestay: Bringing a phrasebook or translation app will make communication a lot easier.
The nearest village is Saukabu, which is about twenty minutes away by Yenmankankan’s longboat. Be sure to stock up with anything you consider essential, because local villages only have basic supplies available.
Safe rubbish disposal is unavailable on any of the Raja Ampat islands, so if you want to avoid contributing to the trashing of paradise, please take all the inorganic waste you create away with you when you leave.
Transport / Getting there
Waisai pickups and dropoffs cost IDR 2,500,000. Transfers are by longboat capable of carrying 4 passengers. Transfer cost is shared by passengers.

I booked the over water bungalow but was assigned a land bungalow over the swamp part. It is very basic, mattress and mosquito net, no table or chair. Bathroom is not very clean and very basic (bucket of water), not super near the bungalows. Food was also basic.
I do not recommend the Gloria dive shop, poor equipment and unsafe diving so if you want to dive, arrange beforehand with another dive shop.
Sorry to hear of this Estelle
Room type substitution is unacceptable, and Stay Raja Ampat will refund guests for every night they have to spend in a bungalow that was not of the type they paid for.
All you need to do is contact us as requested in your booking confirmation emails when you discover the issue, and before leaving the homestay.

We spent a week here with our four children. The location was stunning, and the house reef and exceptional snorkelling right out the front. The family running the homestay went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Thank you for your hospitality!

We spent 4 days at Yenmankankan Homestay. The new large above water bungalow is very nice and has everything you need. The toilet/shower room was functional. The food was delicious and varied, in the afternoon we always had a coffee pastry. Some fruit would have been nice. On site we could go diving with the Gloria Diverns right next door. You will have a View to the Galaxy divesite from your bungalow The house reef was also ok for snorkeling, but not overly good. A trip to Piaynemo View Point, about 10 minutes away, is recommended, unfortunately we couldn’t share a boat there. We would visit them again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Coco Huts. Oscar and his family are very friendly and helpful. They only speak little English and Indonesian, Papua is their main language. So Google Translate was helpful. Or they called the owner to translate. Ask them to teach you some Papua words! 🙂
The hut is very clean and comfortable. The fan at night is really nice. The toilet and shower were always clean and had enough water to flush and rinse yourself.
The food at Coco Huts is amazing! Everything was very tasty and spicy but not too spicy.
A great place to stay if you’re interested in visiting Wayag, the bay and see Mantas!
Our stay at Coco Huts Homestay was incredible.
We were the only travelers during our stay and were warmly welcomed in excellent English by our friend Vence.
The small family living on the island was very friendly, and we had the chance to share a drink with the locals in the evening, singing both local and international songs.
The food was by far the best we had during our time in Raja Ampat.
They took us to discover Wayag as well as their nearby island, Mutus. It was an amazing experience.
Thank you to everyone!
A magical place run by a wonderful family! Nice clean over water huts – really appreciated the fan on all night! Clean bathrooms and ‘shower’ with water always present. The food was excellent, varied and plentiful! Vence, my guide, was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. He helped me from start to finish. From meeting me in Sorong; to catching the ferry to Waisai and getting a hotel for the night; to guiding all day trips from Coco Huts; and even making sure I got some camera equipment back to me (on another island!) after I had forgotten it in the hut. He’s a kind, friendly and generous young man; he made my stay one of the best experiences in my life!
You cannot go wrong staying with this family at this Homestay. It’s an amazing little piece of paradise located in an ideal spot with many attractions nearby. Their prices for trips I felt were very fair — especially when I compared them to some other homestays. The house reef is good out about 100m from shore, and there is an excellent reef a short walk to the other side of the island. I stayed 4 nights and I could easily have stayed twice that!
Come here and you will be well taken care of and you will have a most amazing experience!
I stayed in Coco huts for 3 days and I wish I’ve could have stayed longer.
Hut is nice and clean, you have fan inside and electricity runs from sunset till the morning.
Signal is weak or non existing but when you’re in a place like this, you don’t really need it, you can just enjoy the sunsets from your terrace.
Bathroom was also clean, buckets were always filled with water and there was toilet paper and soap.
Food was delicious, lots of fruit!
House reef actually goes all around the island so you can snorkel for hours.
In low tide you can also walk around the island (sandy beach) and there is a path through the jungle as well.
Family is very friendly and helpful and in the evenings, they would play a traditional music for us, which was really nice.
We stayed 4 nights at Coco Huts, and it was absolutely wonderful. This is the perfect place if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with stunning natural beauty and warm hospitality.
The family running Coco Huts was incredibly kind and made us feel at home. The food was amazing—every meal felt like a feast, and the afternoon snacks and fresh coconuts were such a treat. The house reef was simply spectacular, with vibrant coral and plenty of marine life to discover just a few steps from the hut. And the sunsets? Unreal. Each evening felt like a painting come to life.
One of the highlights of our stay was how well they handled activities and logistics. We went on several snorkeling trips (saw many mantas) and a memorable excursion to Wayag. They really know how to navigate the waters, even in challenging conditions, and ensured that we had safe and enjoyable experiences. They also arranged the transfers seamlessly, allowing us to snorkel at a few spots along the way, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The hut itself was nice and clean, with a fan that kept us cool throughout the full night as electricity runs from 6pm-6am. We really enjoyed the new sunbeds. With limited internet connection, Coco Huts is the best place to disconnect from the world and truly relax.
If you’re looking for an authentic, laid-back escape with amazing snorkeling and a warm, welcoming vibe, Coco Huts is the place to go!
We did 2 days at the Yenmankankan Homestay, it was fabulous! We arrived at a heavenly beach where two families live, Marthen and his brother. The children are adorable. The rooms are equipped with fans. The reef is beautiful and great diving spots are very close. We saw mantas near the reef. You have the opportunity to go diving on site. Although not very varied, we ate as much as we needed and the food was excellent. I strongly recommend that you go there to find yourself in a little corner of paradise, with a great family!

We adored our stay at Coco Huts.
Be prepared (with water, sunscreen, etc.) for a 2.5-3 hour boat ride from Waisai. But it is a very pleasant and beautiful trip.
The island is like it’s from a movie. The part where you’ll live is really tidy. And many things are well thought after. We never had a need for food. And I must mention, our cooks were extraordinary.
A family will live near your bungalow, but far enough to give you privacy. We were happy that we could always rely on them for anything. They don’t speak much English, but we could understand each other. And yes, everybody was super attentive and polite.
It is mesmerizing to see the wildlife from your deck and the ebb and flow of the ocean. We could spend hours just watching life happen. And what others mentioned: the sunset is out of this world.
We do envy the people who are yet to book their stay with Coco Huts.
We were really positively surprised by the friendlyness of the Coco huts staff, the quality of food they prepared for us and generally by the great vibe during our stay there. The sunsets from the huts are magical. We really enjoyed our stay there 10/10!
