Details

Worisun Homestay lies on Arborek’s western shore, a short walk from Arborek village.

Five over-water private bungalows are available. The bungalows have unobstructed ocean and sunset views. Covered verandahs are equipped with table and chairs.

The bungalow bedrooms sleep two on mattresses on the floor. Bedding for a third person or a twin share arrangement can be provided if needed. Bed linen, pillows, bolsters and mosquito nets are provided in all bedrooms, and all bungalows have multiple power outlets and room light switches fitted.

Meals are served in a beachside dining room, and free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are provided for guests. Like all homestays, Worisun serves local style food, which always contains rice and vegetables with fish, egg or chicken. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary needs, please be sure to let your hosts know when you meet them.

Worisun Homestay guests share a four-room bathroom building.

Electricity is usually available all night from the Arborek village supply, and solar power provides electricity during the day.

Telkomsel’s Arborek tower provides a strong 4G signal.

There are shops in the village that sell food, basic supplies and cold drinks, but (as everywhere in Raja Ampat) there’s no effective waste disposal or recycling available. If you don’t want to contribute to the trashing of paradise, please take all your inorganic waste away with you when you leave.

Only a little English is spoken at Worisun Homestay, so bringing a translation app or phrasebook might ease any communication difficulties .

Transport / Getting there

Waisai transfers are by longboat and cost IDR 1,000,000 if 4 or less passengers, or 1,200,000 if 5 passengers. The transfer price is shared by passengers.

Activities

Diving and snorkelling

Arborek Dive Shop is a short walk away, and dives all the famed Dampier Strait and Kabui Bay dive sites. Contact Arborek Dive Shop to book dives.

Be sure to bring snorkelling gear, as the waters beneath Arborek's jetty and the reefs off the island's eastern end are special. Arborek is also the closest accommodation to the famed Manta Point and Manta Sandy sites where you can dive or snorkel with mantas.

Sightseeing and Transfers

Arborek village often mounts cultural performances, and production of handcrafted souvenirs is thriving. Worisun Homestay can organise boat trips to any sightseeing or snorkelling sites you might want to visit, and Arborek is small enough that you can easily drop in to other homestays to find travelling companions to share costs with.

  • This was one of our favourite places in all of Raja Ampat! Super peaceful bungalows over the water, sunrise and sunset views (probably the best sunset view in Raja Ampat), and to top it all off Isai is one of the most thoughtful and kind hosts we have ever met. His whole family was lovely and helpful, cooking delicious and varied meals and even bringing us fresh coconuts to drink on hot days. I highly highly recommend staying here.

  • Exceptionnel. On recommande a 200 %.

  • I ended up staying here for 6 nights. It was fantastic. The hosts are so friendly and will do what they can to help you! The sunset views are the best on the island. And it is stunning. The rooms were never too hot either because of the wind.
One note is that they do not provide hammocks, at least my bungalow didn’t have one, so make sure to bring one for yourself. I did. Possibly they would have one if you asked 🙂

  • We stayed for five nights. The location ist very good. Not too close to the village (5 min walk).
The family is super friendly and help you with everything. The food was excellent. Always enough and tea, water and cafe was always there. The rooms are clean and we enjoyed our hammock, as well as sunrise and sunset.
Sometimes you get an unexpected coconut 🙏

For diving go to Arborek Dive (Githa) in the village.

    All the best

    Thanks a lot

  • Stayed at Worisun for 7 nights in January 2026 and had the most incredible experience.

    – The family running the homestay is very friendly, I felt welcome from the first minute to the last. Isai, the owner, is very kind and helpful. He built the accommodation together with his father. Isai speaks a bit English, and so does his brother-in-law Joshua (and both are learning enthusiastically). The children are friendly and playful, and it’s impressive to see their fearlessness and skills in nature. All family members are always in for a chat and keen to teach you their language, and to learn more English. We had some good laughs.
    – The food is amazing: varied, fresh, always timely and more than enough. Three times a day, and very flexible taking into account your planning. From the dining area, which is located on the beach, you have a beautiful view to the west.
    – The beautiful wooden houses over the water (currently 5) are probably the best located on the island. In the morning you can see the sun rising from the jetty that connects the houses, and in the evening all houses have a perfect view of the sunset (when guests from other homestays come to your location to watch the sunset every night, you know you’re in the right spot)
    – Wildlife: little sharks (and every now and then a bigger one), little rays and loads of different fish swim under and in front of the houses. It’s an amazing view to wake up with, or just enjoy watching from your private porch at any time. One morning I counted 28 blacktip reef sharks right in front of the house. One night I saw a massive sea snake entering the beach and going back into the water. The trees around the accommodation are full of small and large birds (like Ospreys) and I’ve seen the largest bats of my life at dusk. Driving a boat to and around the island we saw several mantas, dolphins, a whale and a dugong (!). One day we also saw a massive Napoleon Wrasse (truly massive) near Worisun that got stuck in the shallows during low tide. From others I heard they saw turtles every time they snorkeled or dove near the island.
    – Nature: one evening I saw the most spectacular thunder and lightning that I’ve ever seen, tormenting an island far away.
    – Diving and snorkeling: unfortunately I had a punctured eardrum coming to the island, but from what I’ve seen and heard Worisun (and the rest of Arborek) is perfectly situated. Also, the diving centre is next door.
    – Fishing: Isai and Joshua took us out fishing on and around the reefs that surround the island. My neighbor caught a massive Spanish Mackerel and another tuna-like fish. The fish were prepared in three different ways by Isai’s family that day and the day after.
    – Quiet: most days i was the only guest, so it felt like a private homestay, while other homestays were a lot more crowded. There is no neighboring homestay to the east, just mangroves. So if you’re looking for quiet, go now, before the reviews start piling and the people start coming. The island is very small, so everything is near. Bonus: the more guests come to Worisun, the less Isai has to go to other islands to work there for extra income.

    All in all amazing homestay!

    • Adding to my previous review for potential guests looking for a bit of comfort as well: Worisun has modern showers and toilets and the accomodation is always spotless and tidy! Unlimited coffee and tea is included, and mosquito nets are provided and so is the incredible night time sky filled with stars.

  • The place was really nice, very good conditions compared to other, probably new one. Food was really good and beautiful sunsets! Unfortunately we were locked during the night and had problems with get out with luggages and early breakfast which was promised didn’t happen, also dinner wasn’t cleaned till the day after- that could be improved. But despite of that I would still recommend 🙂

  • The best of Arborek. This is the place to be for sunset.
A big big thank you to the family, who is very welcoming. I had a really good time talking with them.
    Food is amazing.
Everything is very clean, not rats, nothing.
And activities with Isai are really the best. He knows the best places for manta and are always caring.
    Terima kasih ❤️

  • Great stay in this homestay. Family is friendly, food abundant, there were always leftovers, toilets and showers very clean and with a great view of the sunset. There was a fan in the room, and It was quite brazos, so I never was Hot sleeping. Even if Arborek is crowded, it felt more secluded from the other parts of the island. Beach in this side has a sandy bottom, but in the right side, towards the mangroves you can see babysharks.

Only a recommetion to improve would be to have some shelves or hangers to leave stuff, but It is only a minor thing.

I’d happy come back to this homestay.

  • We stayed at Worisun for three nights and throughly enjoyed our homestay. The highlights were the sunsets from the cabin, the food (more than enough and very good), and the warm of Isai and his family. We didn’t have any unpleasant experiences such as rats, mosquitoes, or aggressive dogs. We are truly grateful to Isai and his family. Isai took us to the various spots we wanted to see and went snorkeling at reasonable prices. We also loved Arborek Island, where we were able to walk around and meet the friendly locals (which might not occur on others islands). We highly recommend it.

  • We stayed at Worisun Homestay for three nights.
Despite arriving very early, we received a very warm welcome and were able to check into our room immediately.

Our food intolerances were taken into account and the food was delicious and always plentiful.

The tours with Isai were great and individually tailored.

The room had everything we needed and the view of the sunset is fantastic.

The sanitary facilities were the best we found in Raja Ampat.

    We would come back anytime.

  • It’s the best homestay we’ve stayed at in 6 months of travel. They helped us with transfers and excursions at a very competitive price.
The owner is very friendly and helps you with anything you need. He’s always available on WhatsApp.
The food is delicious and plentiful — we could barely finish everything they served us.
The cabins are simple but clean and well maintained. Each one has a hammock and sunset views.
You can practically jump into the sea from your bed. You can see small rays and sharks from your own terrace.
There’s a shared Western-style bathroom, separate from the shower. Clean. When we were there in June 2025, they were building more bathrooms, common areas, and rooms.
Due to its location on the island, I believe it has huge potential.
I recommend it 100% — we felt very comfortable at Worisun Homestay.

Very nice also the snorkel around the main jetty! Use always the jetty to reach the reef bacause at low tide you cannot swim to the deep. Do Not walk on the corals in the shallow because you will destroy them!!!! Use the jetty!!!!

  • Karangkary Homestay returned to Stay Raja Ampat in March 2024 after a long closure during the pandemic.

Nobody has left a review since Karangkary’s return, but hopefully some kind guest will do so soon! 🙏
