Details
Tara Fudin Homestay lies on Pam Island’s sheltered north-east coast.
Two private land bungalows and one private beach bungalow are available.
The bungalows sleep two on mattresses on the floor. Sheets, pillows, light blankets and mosquito nets are supplied, and all rooms are provided with electrical outlets and room light switches.
All bungalows have covered verandahs. Chairs and table are provided on the verandahs.
Meals are served in Tara Fudin Homestay’s beachside dining room. Free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always available for guests there.
Guests share a two-room bathroom building. A western style toilet is provided in one room, and dip mandi (tub and ladle) bathing in the other.
Tara Fudin Homestay usually receives about half bars of phone signal. A (slow) 4G data connection is usually available.
Electricity is provided by generator, and is available from around 6pm to midnight.
Only a little English is spoken at Tara Fudin Homestay, so bringing an offline translation app or phrasebook would be a good idea.
Saukbu village is a short walk away. There are small shops in Saukabu, but be sure to stock up with anything you consider essential, because local villages only have basic supplies available.
Safe rubbish disposal doesn’t exist in Raja Ampat: Please do take all your inorganic waste away with you when you leave. Anything left in the islands will only contribute to the trashing of paradise.
Transport / Getting there
Transfers between Waisai and Tara Fudin Homestay are by longboat which can carry up to 4 people.
The trip cost is IDR 2,500,000 and is shared by passengers.
Pam harbour transfers (for the public boat below) cost IDR 250,000

Public Boat to the Fam Islands
If you have plenty of time, you don’t mind a bit of discomfort, and you want spend as little as possible on transport costs, then there are cargo boats that you can use to get to the Fam Islands. (Obviously, if you are going to arrive on the cargo boat, then you don’t need to request a Waisai pickup when submitting the booking form above.)
Here’s what you need to know about getting the cargo boat to Fam.
Activities
Be sure to bring snorkelling gear: There are many excellent snorkelling sites around Tara Fudin Homestay.
Like all homestays, Tara Fudin can organise snorkelling and sightseeing trips to anywhere you want to go.
Saukabu village is a short walk away, and walking paths connect Saukabu to Pam’s two other villages, and to a jetty in a bay on the northern side of the island.

I recommend this homestay.
The location is very beautiful. The large beach along this coast of the island is not very clean, but it is better in the area of this homestay. It is a good place to visit the surrounding area. I still recommend going there with other people because the place is isolated and internet access is very limited. It will be easier and cheaper to get things organised.
Henri and his family are very welcoming and always available, but you need to use a translator to make yourself understood. The meals are well prepared and plentiful. They are listening to your needs to make it even better. Electricity is available from 6 p.m. onwards.

This homestay feels very remote. There are no direct neighbors and I was the only guest. I walked in both directions along the coast which filled about half a day. You should be fine on your own.
The homestay has the standard of other Raja Ampat homestays, but it is quite new so everything is in great shape. The family was very nice and put in a lot of effort. For example, I pointed at a coconut tree in order to ask, if the Farther could get me a coconut (for the next meal) and he got me a coconut right away. The next day, he had another one ready without me asking.
Suggestion for improvement: hang hammocks on the porch. Mount nails, hooks or clothes lines in the huts so one can hang clothes.

Really great new homestay with the most lovely and considerate host family and tasty food. Fantastic reef with beautiful sandy beach on your doorstep.

Tara Fudin Homestay was added to Stay Raja Ampat today, and so does not have any reviews yet.
It’s really hard for homestays new to the website.
Why not take a chance? Be the first to book, and then submit some feedback for Lefrida and Marthen.
They’ll be so happy to see you! 😊🙏
