Details
Rosye Homestay lies in a sheltered, hidden cove on the north side of Pulau Pam
Three over-water private bungalows are available.
The bungalows sleep two. Bedding for a third guest can be provided if needed. Both bungalows will eventually have raised beds, but in March 2024, only one was available. The usual bedding and mosquito nets are supplied, and all rooms are provided with a small table, electrical outlets, and room light switches.
All bungalows have covered verandahs with chairs and a small table.
Meals are served in Rosye Homestay’s mangrove-surrounded dining room. Free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always available for guests there.
Guests share a two-roomed bathroom building. A western style toilet occupies one room, and dip mandi (bucket) bathing is available in the other.
Rosye Homestay does not receive a very good phone signal. You should probably be prepared to be offline and uncontactable. Electricity is supplied by generator and is available from sunset to around midnight.
Only a little English is spoken at Rosye Homestay, so bringing an offline translation app or phrasebook will ease communication.
The nearest village is Saupapir. Saupapir can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. Be sure to stock up with anything you consider essential, because local villages only have basic supplies available.
Safe rubbish disposal is unavailable on any of the Raja Ampat islands, so if you want to avoid contributing to the trashing of paradise, please take all the inorganic waste you create away with you when you leave.
Transport / Getting there
Transfers between Waisai and Rosye Homestay are by longboat which can carry up to 4 people.
The trip cost is IDR 2,500,000 and is shared by passengers.

Public Boat to the Fam Islands
If you have plenty of time, you don’t mind a bit of discomfort, and you want spend as little as possible on transport costs, then there are cargo boats that you can use to get to the Fam Islands. (Obviously, if you are going to arrive on the cargo boat, then you don’t need to request a Waisai pickup when submitting the booking form above.)
Here’s what you need to know about getting the cargo boat to Fam.
Activities
The Pam Islands are home to some of Raja Ampat's best beaches. Jump in a boat and spend a day on one!
Be sure to bring snorkelling gear too, as there are plenty of excellent snorkelling sites nearby.
Walking paths connect Rosye Homestay to Pam's three villages, so it's easy to walk to other homestays, or the fabulous sandy beaches of the island's northern shore.
Rosye Homestay can provide excursions to anywhere you want to go.

We had a fantastic time at Rosye homestay. The host family were lovely and made sure we were looked after and able to see everything we had hoped to.
When we mentioned we were going to swim to the nearby jetty (where the path starts to walk around the island), they insisted on dropping us off in the boat and made sure someone was able to pick us up whenever we got back.
The host knows where all the snorkeling spots are and took us to some great locations. He also has a gift for finding Mantas and we had an awesome time floating in the water while one swam back and forth underneath.
The rooms were comfortable with a fantastic view and the food was delicious and plentiful.
The location is surrounded by mangroves so you can’t walk far but there is an absolutely stunning river close by that you can swim up which felt like a hidden paradise.
I would absolutely stay again and recommend to others
We had the best time at Rosye homestay. Grice and his family were very warm and friendly. The tour to Piaynemo, Rufas and Melissa’s garden was just great. Highly recommended!
Pro’s:
🛖 Simple hut with fan, small table, mosquito net, chair and sun lounger. In sunny weather you can jump straight from your terrace into the clear turquoise water — plenty of fish swim around a (small) coral reef on both sides of the three huts.
🛁 Bathroom consists of one hut with a Western toilet and mandi, and another with a large mandi. It was clean.
🍚 Daughter Rosye cooks well, though meals are not very varied.
🥥 A coconut costs 25,000 IDR.
🪸 The excursion to the Piaynemo viewpoint was combined with Rufas Lagoon (beautiful!), Melissa’s Garden (too deep for snorkelling) and Fam Wall (healthy coral with gorgeous colours!). Ask for takeaway lunch for a break at Rufas. Manaru and Andau Kecil are also worth it.
Cons:
A mangrove surrounds the small homestay, so exploring the island is not really possible. During snorkel trips we were dropped a few times at dead coral (skip e.g. Mioskor).

The host was absolutely outstanding. He knows every snorkelling spot by heart, checks the currents, and tells you exactly where to snorkel — incredibly attentive and experienced.
We were very lucky and even saw a manta ray, and on our way to the next homestay we spotted dolphins. He even made several extra loops so we could enjoy the moment to the fullest. 🐬✨
The food was fantastic — very varied, always fresh, and absolutely delicious. You can really taste how well they cook and how much love they put into every meal.
The overwater bungalows are fantastic — during high tide you can jump straight into the water from your bungalow.
The entire accommodation was extremely clean and beautifully decorated.
We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We spend 3 days at rosye homestay. Arlan, the host was amazing. He took us on many excursions. Making sure my wife didn’t get stung by jelly fish. He was so caring and helpful. His family was friendly and his wife is an amazing cook. Out of the 4 homestays that we went to this was hands down the cleanest and most personable place we stayed. Transport was simple and communication was easy. If you want a true experience in raja Ampat this is the place to get it! Thank you. Your family made our experience unforgettable.

The most perfect over-water bungalow, everything really great.

Our stay at Rosye Homestay was beyond perfect.
It was by far the best experience we had during our time in Raja Ampat.
Grace is an exceptional cook — every meal she prepared was absolutely delicious and wonderfully varied. We never ate the same thing twice!
Her husband is an outstanding guide. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to swim with several manta rays, even though it wasn’t the right season, while other travelers we met didn’t have that chance.
He always managed to make us laugh and took incredible care of us throughout our stay.
The bungalows were spotless, the beds very comfortable, and even the bathrooms were kept impeccably clean at all times.
This lovely family truly made us feel at home — we’ll miss them a lot.
