Details
Raja Ampat Diva Homestay offers three VIP bungalows in a beachside setting near Yenbeser village.
The bungalows sleep two on raised double beds and have western style toilets and showers in their ensuite bathrooms. Mosquito nets, pillows, bed linen and bath towels are provided.
The tree-shaded bungalows are set a little back from the beach. The covered bungalow verandahs are equipped with a small table and chairs.
Meals are served in a beachside dining room. Free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always available there. The dining room is a great place to relax and take in the ocean view to neighbouring Pulau Friwen.
A decent 4G connection is normally available from the Diva’s dining room, beach and jetty.
Electricity is from Yenbeser village supply, and is available from 6pm to 6am.
Yenbeser village has small shops where basic supplies are available. The village is about a five minute walk away.
A note about rubbish: There’s no effective waste treatment or recycling facilities in Raja Ampat, so leaving inorganic trash like plastics and dead batteries at Diva will only contribute to Raja Ampat’s growing rubbish problem. Please do take all your inorganic trash away with you when you leave.
Only a little English is spoken at Raja Ampat Diva Homestay, so if you don’t speak Bahasa Indonesia, a translation app or phrasebook will be useful.
Transport / Getting there
One way Waisai transfers cost IDR 600,000. The price is shared by passengers.
The trip is by longboat, with a maximum capacity of four passengers.
Activities
Raja Ampat Diva Homestay has a great location on the outskirts of Yenbeser village. The dense jungle behind the homestay is full of bird and animal life. Be sure to bring your snorkelling gear: Great snorkelling is available off Diva's sandy beach.
Village visits are easily made – it’s only a few minutes walk to Yenbeser, either along the beach or via a path that winds through the village cemetery. There’s good snorkelling from the Yenbeser jetty and the Dore Atri lagoon at the very northern end of the village is very pretty and inhabited by a host of juvenile fish and other creatures fond of seagrass habitats. (You have to follow a path from the back of the village around a headland to reach the eastern half of Yenbeser and Dore Atri.)
A hill in the jungle behind the homestay provides panoramic viewpoint. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the viewpoint. Guided trips are available at a cost of IDR 100,000 per person.
Like all homestays, Raja Ampat Diva can provide sightseeing and snorkelling trips to anywhere you want to go. See the table below for a selection of popular options.
All Raja Ampat Diva guests booking stays of 6 nights or longer will receive a free snorkelling trip.

As a small business owner really want to support and give the hosts of this homestay the best rating and review possible. However I also have to be honest to give my feedback in the spirit that I hope my experience can be of benefit for future travelers & I hope the hosts Bram and Nadia can change the business behavior to a honest an transparent pricing.
The Great:
Nadia’s cooking is absolutely top notch.
Nadia and Bram are nice and kind people with good heart and welcoming the guests into their home and village.
the Good:
the homestay was decently comfortable and great location for the value.
the location is close to multiple dive centers and pickups are typically avb for only 100k IDR
The need for improvement:
TLDR: I would not recommend any activity with the family that cost any money, In our experience they would suggest a price and we shake on it, after the trip (hiking, go see reef, snorkel, etc..) they could approach us with a added hidden fee (typically a large sum of multi millions IDR for trip or gasoline.
we asked for a day trip that we mutually agreed on for 500k, we ended up tipping them 300k extra for gas/their time etc..however after the trip, they demanded for a 4million IDR full day trip. Not even full day scuba cost anywhere near that much, of course we refused
at the end of the trip, after we paid for the ride back to wasai for the transport. they approached us needing “gas money” of 1.5 million IDR for the trip. Reality check, we paid the 600k IDR from their homestay back to Waisai…why ask for another 1.5mil IDR when each liter of gas is about 20k IDR. That would be 75 liters of gas.
All that’s to say, I would still recommend staying with them, just find all of your activities elsewhere and say “no” to any of their hidden costs.
I just had a lovely three night stay at Diva and was looked after very well by the lovely team there.
I was expecting a “dip mandi” style shower, but there was a western style shower in the ensuite bathroom (albeit with relatively low water pressure, so it ended up easier to wash my hair with the bucket anyway the one night I washed my hair).
I was really impressed with the food – I’m vegetarian and they catered very well for me. My favourites were the sweet and sour tempe and this amazing eggplant and egg dish. There was always way more food than I could eat.
Some friendly creatures sharing my room – a cute gecko, a tiny crab. No sign of rats despite my bringing plenty of snacks.
Loved my snorkelling trip to Batu Lima, Yenanas, Friwen Wall and a quick visit to Friwen village. I was also able to dive with Tarzan Dive Centre who picked me up from the homestay.
It was very peaceful being the only one there, but also nice to be able to walk into the friendly village. I went snorkelling at the lagoon on the other end of the village at low tide – very limited visibility, but I spotted an enormous turtle! And I saw a lovely little black tipped reef shark on the reef out the front of the homestay on my last morning.
Beautiful spot, highly recommended!

I spent 3 nights at Raja Ampat Diva Homestay and feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to stay there and experience such a warm and welcoming family.
During my stay, I was the only guest, which made it quieter compared to other homestays on different islands with more tourists. The family made a great effort to ensure my stay was enjoyable. One day I went snorkeling at Friwen Wall together with Piter, and on another day I hiked to the viewpoint “Panorama Buntrabut” with Nidya’s uncle.
A huge thank you to this homestay, which even organized the return of my charging adapter that I had left at my previous homestay, two hours away by boat transfer (without any compensation).
The food was delicious. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner – it was always fresh, tasty, varied, and far more than enough for one person. In my opinion, it was the best food I’ve had so far in Raja Ampat.
My bungalow was clean and had its own toilet.
Every member of the family, including the children, was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made me feel truly at home.
Highly recommended.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at Diva homestay for a total of 9 nights. We had both good and bad experiences and want to share them here to help future visitors.
Good things: The food is great, the homestay looks exactly as advertised and there were surprisingly few unwanted animal visitors in the cabin. Sartiel often went out of his way to show us animals after realizing that we were interested in that. The trips we took with the homestay were very nice. Also a big advantage is that they have a really nice boat for trips/transfers.
Bad things:
We notified the homestay when we would arrive and which ferry we would take, but nobody picked us up in Waisai and we ended up having to wait for over 2 hours to be picked up. Once we arrived nobody explained to us how things work at the homestay(mealtimes, no paper in the toilets etc.). It was quite common for us to be completely alone at the homestay for a few hours each afternoon.
We were constantly asked for money to pay for fuel, docking fees etc., which we assumed should be included already in the price of the trips. Also for trip prices you should always refer to the prices given here on the website, because they will try to give you inflated prices. For one trip that we had to cancel due to me having a fever, they first asked us to still pay full price for the trip, but later shifted to us paying for the fuel that was bought for the trip (750.000). At the end of Our stay they actually asked us for a tip, which we found unreasonable given that we paid for fuel worth 750.000 and a 100.000 docking fee during a trip to yenbuba jetty. As a cherry on top, they found us again on the ferry asking for more money as there was a misunderstanding regarding payment for a trip to see coconut crabs. Even though the misunderstanding was quickly resolved, this left a bad impression on our last moments on raja ampat.
As for the guide of the homestay:
We were in contact before we even arrived, and it was very clear that he planned on being there for the duration of our stay. He texted and called a lot, to the point of being pushy. However, on the day of our arrival he did not answer any messages before we arrived in Waisai. Later, he said he will take the ferry the next day. The next day he asked us for an advance payment of 500.000 to be able to come to the Island. After this he became less communicative and actually never showed up. Fortunately, the 500.000 was later deducted from the price of the trips.
General things to keep in mind:
The house reef is not accessible during low tide, we have encountered sand flies in the area so mosquito spray is a must from around 16:00, there sadly is a lot of plastic and other trash on the beaches so it is advisable to wear solid footwear also in the shallow water (we actually found a syringe with a needle on the beach). Be prepared to communicate using google translate, we suggest downloading the indonesian language package.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Diva Homestay. Calvin contacted us prior to arrival and he was prompt in responding to any questions we had, which hugely put our minds at rest.
We appreciated that the prices for the activities listed on the website was accurate and up-to-date, as this allowed us to plan activities and stay within our travel budget. We had some fantastic trips, which Calvin and his Grandfather made extra special and fun.
The location is wonderful, so quiet and peaceful (and right across from Friwen!). We stayed for four nights, and we were the only guests at Diva for most of this time. It was nice to be able to walk into the village and also explore the nearby jungle (we had pre-arranged to use local guide Fritz for this trip).
The room was great with a comfortable mattress, raised bed and western-style bathroom facilities (including mirror!). Overall, the room was as shown on the pictures, so we had no surprises.
The food at Diva was amazing. It was very varied, and always fresh and tasty (and plentiful!). As we were the only guests (for the majority of our stay), the time of the meals was varied to suit our daily plans, and this suited us well. Lunch etc was provided for trips, and breakfast was arranged ahead of any trips we planned with Diva.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Calvin was a fantastic and very fun & involved guide, which really added to our experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this homestay if you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful section of the island and want a personalised trip where you can experience all Raja Ampat has to offer ☺️

Today is our last morning at Raja Diva- it is like leaving family- the people we have met are so kind and helpful, the food is amazing ( Mareetee ♥️) !!!! And Calvin is a wonderful guide- He speaks great English and helps in every way- showing us beautiful places and sharing his dreams and ideas for the future of Raja Ampat. Im so grateful we were here in this slice of paradise, I know Nadia plans to extend.. but I loved having it all to ourselves with just the locals; meeting their children, hearing their singing.. feeling a million miles away from the business of the world
Thankyou Raja diva- we will miss you – Carrie Lisa

I stayed at 3 different homestays in Raja Ampat and was here for 3 nights. The food was tasty but compared to other homestays, the variety and quantity of food was much less.
The snorkelling in front of the beach is ok, but generally the coral is very degraded and there’s lots of algae.
The room was nice, but very dark as it’s set back in the forest. Electricity comes on from 6pm to 6am.
I found Calvin extremely pushy, particularly before I arrived. He messaged me repeatedly to find out my plans. He was absolutely insistent that they collect me from my previous homestay even though I had not asked for a pick up. On that day his first call was at 6am, with 5 subsequent calls, and he even lied about the fact that a boat was already there to collect me when he didn’t know where I was staying. His English was very poor and he was not able to organise a visit to Wallace’s hut even though I asked twice….so I just arranged that with another homestay. On the day of departure, he suggested we leave at 1.30pm, which was laughable as the journey takes a lot longer than 30 minutes to reach Waisai in time for the 2pm ferry.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this miscommunication may have caused you.

Very nice homestay with good food.
Very nice homestay with good food.

I loved my stay in the little homestay! The room was spacious and spotlessly clean and had everything you could need. The food was absolutely delicious and hats off to them for going the extra mile to make vegan food for me. Calvin spoke excellent English, has impeccable manners and went out of his😄way to make our snorkeling trips amazing! The snorkeling and little community there were excellent and I definitely hope to back some day .
Sharon sayang, terima kasih banyak atas tanggapan Anda. Senang sekali bisa menyambut Anda sebagai tamu dan kami sangat menantikan kedatangan Anda kembali. Sampai saat itu tiba, semoga yang terbaik dari seluruh tim Diva HomeStay🤞🤞

I had an amazing stay here. The two cabins are new with a comfortable mattress, beautiful tiled bathroom with sink and mirror, a big table for your things and a strip with pegs and clothes hangars.
Nidea cooked varied meals and Calvin, her enthusiastic and kind nephew, spoke English. He arranged for special snorkelling excursions where I saw some of the best coral of my trip. Either Calvin or one of the Papua brothers who were the boatmen swam with me pointing out anything unusual.
Two mornings, we saw a mother and baby dugong nearby the homestay. The snorkelling in front of the homestay was also good. I saw a number of turtles.
I especially loved that it was located next to the jungle with a beautiful sandy bay to the right. The trees on an outcropping allowed you to swim in the shade in the afternoon which was a treat for me.
Thank you all for making my stay a memorable experience!

I stayed at Diva Homestay for 10 days and had an incredible experience. I love this small homestay with only two bungalows on the beach and close to the jungle. The house reef is very beautiful and I saw a lot of various fishes, little sharks. I went snorkeling often three times a day and love every moment. The snorkeling tours with the guides Marcel and especially Calvin are very good and I enjoyed every moment. With Calvin and Papua we had the super experience to snorkel with mantas. Thank you so much!
Nydia is a very good cook so I enjoyed always a delicious lunch and dinner. The meals a very varied and delicious.
The bungalows are basic but this is a part of the experience so far away in such a remote region – but also one of the last paradise of our world.
I am sure, I remember those days always with a smile and I will come back again.
Terima kasih banyak banyak
Thank you Karin for your kind words. We’re glad you had fun. Go back and dive again to Cape KRI and Manta point. The first impression when seeing a manta is an extraordinary impression, We are here waiting for you. Take care and best wishes from the whole team🐾🐾🐾🐾

We stayed at Raja Ampat Diva Homestay on Gam Island and had an incredible experience. It’s a beautiful, small homestay nestled right between the jungle and the beach, with only two bungalows. We had the entire place to ourselves for 4 out of our 6 nights, which made it feel even more special. The beach is lovely, although swimming is only possible at high tide. The house reef is amazing—we saw various sharks, turtles, sea snakes, and even dugongs! We went snorkeling at least twice a day and loved every moment of it.
The nearby village, Yenbeser, is just a five-minute walk away and has some small shops where you can buy snacks. We stayed for 6 nights and were pleasantly surprised to get a complimentary snorkeling trip to Friwen Wall, which was absolutely worth it! Our guide, Marcel, was incredibly friendly, communicative, and genuinely interested in ensuring we had a great experience.
The food at Diva Homestay was hands down the best we had in Raja Ampat. The two women who cooked for us are fantastic chefs, and the meals were super varied, abundant, and delicious. We enjoyed an amazing range of veggies, tofu, tempeh, eggs, fish, meat, and fresh fruits in all kinds of combinations.
The bungalow itself is quite basic and has a bit of a musty smell, but it’s all part of the experience in such a remote location. We did have some visits from rats and crabs, so be prepared for a bit of wildlife! There is a Western-style toilet, although without a toilet seat.
Overall, we highly recommend Raja Ampat Diva Homestay for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty of Raja Ampat in an authentic, friendly setting.
Terima kasih banyak kepada Nydia & tim untuk pengalaman yang luar biasa dan keramahan yang hangat. Kami merasa sangat diterima dan tidak akan pernah melupakan waktu kami di sini!

We (couple) spent 3 nights in this homestay, and loved it! The meals were good and plentiful, the host was always joyous and available.
The “village” nearby is very convenient also to organize boat trips.
Overall a lovely stay
We (couple) spent 3 nights in this homestay, and loved it! The meals were good and plentiful, the host was always joyous and available.

My stay of four days in June 2024 was perfect. The host family and some guys from the adjacent village were very helpful and accommodating, the location is beautiful. Also the short distance to Wasai is a big plus, 30+ minutes ride in their longboat. The food was superb in quality and quantity, dining on the over water porch was perfect. Thank you!

We spend 8 days in this homestay just before the covid starts. It was a fantastic experience!!! The host was very helpful, meals great, snorkeling at the house reef breath-taking. They had a boat and we visited a number of places, including Piaynemo. We also had a trip for birdwatching – bird-of-paradise with a local quide.

Raja Ampat Diva has no current rating or reviews, as the homestay has only recently reopened after the covid years.
Hopefully someone will add one soon 🙏
In the meantime, you’ll find some older ones over on their Google listing.
