Details

Merpati Homestay lies on the sheltered northern shore of Pulau Merpati (Dove Island).

Merpati is one of a pair of tiny islands that lie to the south of Mansuar, in the strait between Mansuar and Batanta. (See the map below.)

Three VIP beach bungalows are offered. VIP bungalows have ensuite bathrooms.

The bungalows sleep two on raised beds. The usual mosquito net and bedding are provided, and room light switches and power outlets for charging devices are fitted.

Chairs and a small table are provided on the bungalow verandahs, which have sunset and ocean views across the strait to Agusta, Mansuar and Kri.

The ensuite bathrooms have showers and western-style toilets. Tubs of water are also provided for times when the electricity is off.

Meals are served on Merpati Homestay’s beachside dining verandah. Drinking water, and tea and coffee making supplies are always available there free of charge.

Electricity is provided by generator and is available from sunset to around midnight. If you are willing to pay for the extra fuel required, electricity can be provided as needed.

Merpati Homestay usually receives a good phone signal, and a 4G data connection is normally available.

Sauwandarek village on Mansuar is about a ten minute boat ride away. Basic provisions can be purchased in the village kiosks there.

Please do take all your inorganic rubbish away with you when you leave. As everywhere in Raja Ampat, there is no safe local waste disposal. Any plastic, batteries and other inorganic waste you leave behind will only contribute to the trashing of paradise.

Your hosts Riona and Feki only have a little English, so if you don’t speak Bahasa Indoneisa, then bringing an offline translation app or phrasebook will ease communication.

  • Merpati Homestay joined Stay Raja Ampat today, and so don’t have any reviews yet.

Why not book a stay and be the first to write one?

It’s really hard for families new to the website to win bookings, so we hope you’ll take a chance and make Riona and Feki’s day 🙏😊
