Kombrof Homestay lies on Arborek’s northern shore, a short walk from the vibrant Arborek village.
Two private, over-water bungalows are available.
The bungalow bedrooms sleep two on mattresses on the floor. Bedding for a third guest is available if required, but the rooms are probably a little small to comfortably sleep 3 adults. Bed linen, pillows, bolsters and mosquito nets are provided, and both bungalows have multiple power outlets, room light switches and electric fans fitted.
The bungalows have covered verandahs with sweeping ocean views. Chairs and a hammock are provided on the verandahs.
Meals are served in a beachside bungalow that sits just behind a row of protective mangroves. Free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always available there for guests. Like all homestays, Kombrof serves local style food, which always contains rice and vegetables with fish, egg or chicken. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary needs, please be sure to let your hosts know when you meet them.
Guest share a two-room bathroom building. Dip mandi (bucket) bathing is provided in one room, and a western-style toilet in the other.
Electricity is a combination of village supply solar panels and is usually available 24 hours per day. Telkomsel’s Arborek tower provides a strong 4G signal.
There are shops in the village that sell food, basic supplies and cold drinks, but (as everywhere in Raja Ampat) there’s no effective waste disposal or recycling available. If you don’t want to contribute to the trashing of paradise, please take all your inorganic waste away with you when you leave.
Only a little English is spoken at Kombrof Homestay. Bringing a translation app or phrasebook is recommended if you don’t speak Bahasa Indonesia.
Transport / Getting there
Transport between Waisai and Kombrof Homestay is by longboat and costs IDR 1,200,000.
The cost is shared by passengers (4 max.)

Activities
Diving and snorkelling
Kombrof Homestay guests can dive with neighbouring Arborek Dive Homestay, or with Arborek Dive Shop. You must contact Arborek Dive Shop to book diving in advance.
Be sure to bring snorkelling gear, as the waters beneath Arborek’s jetty and the reefs off the island’s eastern end are special. Arborek is also the closest accommodation to the famed Manta Point and Manta Sandy sites where you can dive or snorkel with mantas.
Arborek village often mounts cultural performances, and production of handcrafted souvenirs is thriving. Kombrof Homestay can organise boat trips to any sightseeing or snorkelling sites you might want to visit, and Arborek is small enough that you can easily drop in to the other homestays to find travelling companions to share costs with.
Piaynemo trip
Kombrof Homestay offers a Piaynemo sightseeing and snorkelling trip for IDR 3,000,000 by speedboat, or IDR 2,000,000 by longboat. The trip cost is shared by participants.

Kleines Homestay mit gutem, abwechslungsreich und reichlichem Essen.
Das Homestay ist relativ klein mit einer Matratze auf dem Boden.
Vor dem homestay stehen zwei Kunststoffteile und eine Hängematte zur Verfügung.
In der Toilette fehlt leider schon der Deckel und die Brille, aber dadurch lässt sich alles natürlich besser sauber halten. Die Dusche neben an ist eine Eimerdusche.
Die Sauberkeit ist gut.
Buse und seine Schwester sind sehr herzlich und versuchen jeden Wunsch von den Augen abzulesen.
Die Lage des Homestays ist zentral und wirklich schön, da bisher nichts in unmittelbarer Nähe gebaut wurde. Hier ist man noch für sich allein und hockt nicht mit 5m Abstand zum Nachbarn aufeinander.
Die Kommunikation auf Englisch klappt gut.
Ins Dorf sind es nur wenige Minuten.
Wir waren häufiger mit Arborek dive Shop tauchen und fühlten uns sehr gut aufgehoben. Auf 2 Gäste kam immer ein Guide.
Schön ist auch, dass man tagsüber und auch abends im Dorf immer kalte Getränke und auch mal etwas zum Knabbern bekommt.
Wer Mantas sehen will, kommt an Arborek nicht vorbei.
Ein schöner Ort zum Verweilen und auch für Unternehmungen.
Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in diesem Homestay. Die Lage ist wirklich gut und zentral im Ort. Es gibt mehrere kleine Getränkeshops (ca. 3–4), in denen man auch Snacks oder Kleinigkeiten zu essen kaufen kann. Einen Geldautomaten (ATM) gibt es allerdings weder im Ort noch generell auf den Inseln – man sollte also ausreichend Bargeld mitbringen.
Das Essen im Homestay war immer ausreichend und es gab eine gute Auswahl. Besonders positiv fanden wir, dass Dusche und Toilette getrennt sind und es Süßwasser gibt. Die Betten und die Zimmer wirkten sauber und ordentlich.
Der Host war sehr bemüht und hilfsbereit. Als es bei uns einmal durch die Decke geregnet hat, kam er sofort mit einer Plane und hat sich direkt gekümmert. Auch als eine Glühbirne kaputt ging, hat er gleich versucht, das Problem zu beheben. Manchmal muss man eventuell einen Übersetzer benutzen, da die Englischkenntnisse nicht sehr stark sind, aber mit etwas Geduld funktioniert die Kommunikation gut.
Im Ort gibt es ein aktives Inselleben mit einer Kirche – gelegentlich hört man Musik, was zur lokalen Atmosphäre gehört. Außerdem gibt es einen Dive Shop, bei dem man Tauchgänge buchen kann. Man sollte jedoch frühzeitig und eventuell mehrmals nachfragen, wenn man tauchen möchte.
Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Homestay mit engagiertem Gastgeber und authentischem Inselgefühl.
