Dorey Homestay is located near Yenbuba village on Pulau Mansuar.

Four VIP bungalows sit in the shade of beachside trees.

All bungalows sleep two on raised beds. Sheets, pillows blanket and mosquito nets are provided. Bungalow verandahs are equipped with table and chair settings. Extra mattresses can be provided for up to four guests in a room.

Meals are served in Dorey Homestay’s sand-floored, beachside dining room. Tea and coffee making supplies and drinking water are always freely available to guests there.

VIP bungalows have ensuite bathrooms with western style toilets, showers, mirrors and shelving. (Note that the electricity must be on for the bathroom water pumps to operate.)

Electricity is supplied from generator between sunset and about midnight. If you are willing to pay for the extra fuel required, then electricity can be supplied as needed.

Dorey Homestay receives a strong 4G signal which supports a data connection if you have the right Telkomsel plan.

Basic supplies are available in the nearby village of Yenbuba, which is an easy ten minute walk away.

Please do take any inorganic trash you create away with you when you leave, because there is no safe waste management infrastructure in Raja Ampat.

Only a little English is spoken at Dorey Homestay. Bringing a translation app or phrasebook is recommended.

  • Positive points:
    – location nearby jetty with direct entrance to corals
    – strong signal due to nearby transmission tower

    Negative points:
    – the village is not far away, BUT the path leading there is littered with trash and the jetty is very unstable and almost collapsed
    – uncomfortable seating arrangements
    – old mattresses (neighbors had issues with bed bugs)
    – no blanket, mosquito nets have holes, smelly towels
    – boring and very limited food variations
    – there is a lot of rice being offered, but not much protein
    – “VIP” bungalows not a very fitting description (bungalows of different provider right next to it and sharing the same path in front of the verandahs)
    – expensive boat trips

Overall there a many points to be improved. The management changed recently and seemed to be inexperienced.

I hope that my feedback can support their development. If they’re not willing to change, I would not recommend staying here!

It’s really hard for homestays new to the website.

Please do consider giving Dorey a chance, and then be the first to submit some feedback.
