June 2025: We have had to temporarily suspend bookings at Binkyor Homestay, due to some unresolved family issues at the homestay. Hopefully they will be back soon!
Binkyor Homestay offers two private bungalows at Kordiris in southern Gam.
The bungalows sit in the shade of beachside trees. Each sleeps two on mattresses on the floor.
Sheets, pillows, blanket and mosquito nets are provided. Bungalow verandahs are equipped with table and chair settings.
In May 2025, Binkyor’s dining room was still under construction. Agustina expects that the dining room will be complete by the end of June. Guest meals (and the usual free tea and coffee making supplies) will be served on the bungalow verandah’s until the dining room is ready.
Guests share a 2 room bathroom building. Dip mandi (bucket and ladle) bathing is available in one room. The other houses a squat toilet.
Electricity is supplied from generator and is available between sunset and about midnight.
Binkyor Homestay usually receives a good 4G signal which supports a data connection ii you have the right Telkomsel plan.
The villages of Friwen and Yenbeser are about a ten minute boat ride away.
Please do take any inorganic trash you create away with you when you leave, because there is no safe waste management infrastructure in Raja Ampat.
Agustina and her mother Yosina speak very little English, so bringing a translation app or phrasebook would be best.
Transport / Getting there
Waisai transfers are by longboat, and cost IDR 600,000. The boat can carry 4 passengers max, and the price is shared by passengers.

Activities
Bring snorkelling gear!
At high tide, the sandy beach at Binkyor Homestay offers snorkelling over seagrass and reef. Dugongs can sometimes be seen in the bay at front of the homestay and walking sharks are regular visitors. Whales can be observed further offshore from the homestay as they move through the strait in April and May.
As at all homestays, Agustina can organise any kind of boat trip you might like to do.
The islet of Kordiris is separated from the Gam Island mainland by the wildlife-rich Dore Dor mangrove waterway. The winding mangrove filled waterways and dense jungles of Dore Dor are a birdwatchers paradise, alive with hornbills, sea eagles, eclectus parrots, kingfishers, herons and more.
The jungle behind Kordiris is home to kuskus, squirrel-like tree rats, black king cockatoos and bush fowl that build huge nest mounds in the forest.
