Details
Adefiro Homestay is located on Arborek’s northern shore, only a couple of minutes’ walk from Arborek village.
Three private, over-water bungalows are offered.
The bungalow bedrooms sleep two on raised beds. Bedding for a third guest can be provided if required. Bed linen, pillows, bolsters and mosquito nets are provided, and both bungalows are equipped with multiple power outlets, room light switches and electric fans.
The bungalows have covered verandahs with panoramic ocean views to Gam. Chairs and a hammock are provided on the verandahs.
Meals are served in Adefiro Homestay’s beachside dining room. Free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always availabale there for guests. Like all homestays, Adefiro serves local style food, which always contains rice and vegetables with fish, egg or chicken. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary needs, please be sure to let your hosts know when you meet them.
Guest share a four-room bathroom building. Two rooms are dip mandi (bucket) bathing bathrooms, and two house western-style toilets.
Electricity is from a combination of village supply and solar panels, and is usually available 24 hours per day. Telkomsel’s Arborek tower provides a strong 4G signal.
There are shops in the village that sell food, basic supplies and cold drinks, but (as everywhere in Raja Ampat) there’s no effective waste disposal or recycling available. If you don’t want to contribute to the trashing of paradise, please take all your inorganic waste away with you when you leave.
Only a little English is spoken at Adefiro Homestay. There will usually be someone around who can help, but if you don’t speak any Bahasa Indonesia, then bringing a translation app or phrasebookwould be a good idea.
Transport / Getting there
Transport between Waisai and Adefiro Homestay is by longboat and costs IDR 1,200,000.
The cost is shared by passengers (4 max.)

Activities
Diving and snorkelling
Adefiro Homestay guests can contact Arborek Dive Shop to book diving. (Book ahead! Arborek Dive Shop is popular and often fully booked.)
Be sure to bring snorkelling gear, as the waters beneath Arborek’s jetty and the reefs off the island’s eastern end are special. Arborek is also the closest accommodation to the famed Manta Point and Manta Sandy sites where you can dive or snorkel with mantas.
Arborek village often mounts cultural performances, and production of handcrafted souvenirs is thriving. Adefiro Homestay can organise boat trips to any sightseeing or snorkelling sites you might want to visit, and Arborek is small enough that you can easily drop in to the other homestays to find travelling companions to share costs with.
Piaynemo trips
Adefiro Homestay offers two Piaynemo visit options.
Viewpoint sightseeing and snorkelling trip: IDR 1,500,000 per trip, shared by participants (4 max)
Viewpoint sightseeing only: IDR 1,200,000 per trip, shared by participants (4 max)

Good food, comfortable bed, considerate people, clean rooms, and pretty good english. These are the factors I find important for a relaxing and fulfilling stay, and this was the best of the three I tried.
The bungalow was spacious, cute and clean. The attention to cleanliness was evident in a handwashing station just outside the dining area. It’s the nicest island, and everyone was friendly. Walking down to the pier i vound incredible snorkelling, as mentioned in my dive guide.
Bodi is an incredibly considerate and sensitive host combining to make things run smoothly.
With good English, most things are easily handled, like I needed to stay an extra day, and get transportation to a different island.
Not everything was perfect: the mosqito net was not great, and the over-the-water bungalow wiggled a bit especially if the boat was tied to it. but there will always bew little issues in a remote place like this… the key is to be able to communicate with staff that care.
Thank you very much for your comment Mr. Donn for our homestay 🙏🙏

This is a fabulous little homestay on Arborek. It’s located on the Northern side just around from the jetty. The water is quite shallow there, but I was able to carefully make my way out to the reef and snorkelled down to the jetty and the East side of the island. Meals were served on my balcony, breakfast was usually cake, while lunch and dinners varied including rice, chicken, fish, fruit and vegetables. The food was plentiful and tasty. The room was rustic but clean and well presented, I especially enjoyed chilling in the hammock on the balcony. The bathrooms are simple but fine. Bode was a great host, both kind and attentive. I did a day trip with Bode and he came snorkelling with us and pointed out fish and turtles etc and found a manta ray to swim with. Bode was a great help assisting us with ferry tickets on the transfer back to Waisai. A cute little abode on Arborek with a great host. Thanks Bode.

We were very happy to meet Bodé, the owner. He is very kind and accommodating and took great care of us during our four-day stay. We shared two bungalows for six people, with one double bed and one single mattress on the floor. In terms of comfort, the other bungalows are the same, if not better (based on talking to people staying at other homestays). He is accommodating with all schedules and very respectful. I recommend the Arborek experience with him.
Thank you very much my brother 🙏🙏

Our group of 4 stayed at Adefiro Homestay and had a great time! There are only 2 bungalows so it was perfect for our group, you are facing the ocean and get a good breeze when hanging out in the hammock or drying your clothes on the line. Beds are off the floor and the rooms are large.
There are only 4 people sharing the bathroom (2 toilets, 2 dip Mandi showers), which were always kept clean.
The beds are raised and comfortable – on the soft end. Food was plentiful, they accommodated my friends’ dietary restrictions and packed us lunch on the day we went out for a full day trip. Electricity on Arborek ran from about 7pm to 7am, there is consistent cell service available. Be sure to download google translate since not much English is spoken.
The grass around the homestay is fairly shallow, you can snorkel it or swim to another part of the island where there are more corals. The whole island is small but we did find that the side where Adefiro is was quieter.
Bode took us out snorkeling with manta rays and it was amazing! Highly recommend booking here.
